About
Buoy is a single screen with bubbles drifting across it. Every bubble is an app that paid to be there. When its time runs out the bubble pops, in public, and the space goes straight back on sale.
Why it works this way
Most ad space rewards whoever spends most. This does not. A bubble's size comes from a fixed rate card, and the rate is the same for everyone — $5 buys the smallest bubble for a day. Paying more never moves you to a better spot, because there is no better spot: bubbles drift and collide, and nobody owns the middle.
Nothing is permanent, and that is deliberate. 90 days is the longest run we sell. A board that never clears is a board nobody checks twice, so every placement has an end date and every pop puts inventory back on the market.
What you actually get
- A bubble on the board for exactly the days you paid for.
- A page of your own at
/b/your-app— server-rendered, structured for search engines and AI assistants, and kept online after your bubble pops. - Your name, one-liner and logo, editable at any time.
- Counts of how many people tapped your bubble and clicked through to your site.
The board holds 240 units of space in total. When it is full, it is full — the only way in is to wait for something to pop.
